A Life of Two Callings
Shaykh Dr. Nadeem Qureshi is a specialist in the field of Pediatrics who practices medicine in his home state of New York. Alongside his medical career, he has devoted his life to sacred knowledge and to serving the spiritual needs of the Muslim community.
In him, the community finds a rare combination: a man of modern professional accomplishment whose heart is anchored in the classical tradition of Islamic scholarship.
The Path of Knowledge and the Heart
Shaykh Dr. Qureshi completed the Dars-e-Nizami, the classical curriculum of traditional Islamic education, from Multan, Pakistan.
Upon completion of his formal studies, he pursued further personal and religious development under the expert guidance of Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad Naqshbandi (RA), who granted him Ijazah in keeping with the Islamic tradition. He continues to carry this trust in the Naqshbandi silsila, guiding seekers in tazkiyah and islah: the purification of the heart and the reformation of the self. His message embodies the Islamic ideals of love, joy, and peace, and he hopes to be a source of motivation and inspiration for all people.
Serving the Community
From Syosset, New York, Shaykh Dr. Qureshi supervises a growing house of learning and remembrance:
- A complete path of Islamic education for children and adults, from Maktab and Hifz to the Alimiyya course, taught by Mufti Tofael and Mufti Rafi under his supervision.
- Weekly Friday lectures in Urdu and monthly programs in English, in person and on Zoom.
- Gatherings of dhikr and majalis for the purification of the heart.
His lectures reach thousands through his YouTube channel, with over 179 videos, and through his communities on Facebook and Instagram.
The Journey of a Lifetime, Again and Again
For years, Shaykh Dr. Qureshi has guided groups of pilgrims through Hajj and Umrah: from Nusuk applications and preparation, through every ritual, to the return home with a transformed heart. He has also led sacred tours in the footsteps of the Naqshbandi mashaikh, including the shrines of Bukhara and Samarkand in Uzbekistan, and gatherings such as the Naqshbandi Ijtima in Jhang.
